The Ministry of Health recommended this morning that those who became infected with coronavirus, went through the disease without problems or symptoms and within 10 days are stable without health complications, be discharged to isolation after 10 days without the need to perform the PCR test. This change of criteria is due to new scientific evidence on the behavior of the virus in the human organism, as explained by the National Director of Communicable Disease Control, Juan Manuel Castelli.
In addition, the official revealed that the data collected on COVID-19 since January takes into account “the recovery of people with positive diagnoses through the study known as PCR that is performed for both diagnostic confirmation and high situations”, field in which “new evidence” allows to update recommendations for the “efficient and rational use of health technology”. On the other hand, “for those patients who are admitted to the hospital for a clinical cause” for a complication related to the new coronavirus, the criterion is different because “they are patients who generally have severe forms” and in addition to stable clinical symptoms, high insulation requires “a negative PCR study”.
“This is very important for the health team, but also that the community knows that this is dynamic and changes according to what we are learning about,” said Health Access Secretary Carla Vizzotti.
