translated from Spanish: Health Minister questioned whether international parties are in Chile

The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, spoke on Thursday of the option that international football in Chile can or should not be played from September, after the remainder of the group stage of the Copa Libertadores was already scheduled for that date.
Conmebol has also announced that the Copa Sudamericana would be rebooting in October, the same month in which qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup would start.
In this regard, Minister Paris stated that “we are constantly coordinating with other ministries. The Minister of Sport, Cecilia Perez, informed me, and I spoke to her, and this decision we must make it compatible with the Mindep.”
The secretary of state added that “we don’t know what will happen in September yet, when are the dates these matches could possibly be made.”
However, the minsal’s holder stated that “it is likely, I am informed by the Minister of Sport, that these matches are held on another continent, if circumstances do not allow them to be carried out in Chile”.
In this regard, the Minister of Health was clear in pointing out that “any citizen of another country entering Chile has to keep a 14-day quarantine”.
“Therefore, the football organizations and the Ministry of Sport (…) we have been informed that this will most likely be discussed on their merit as we approach the date, but there are indications that these parties are most likely to take place on another continent,” the health authority said.
