translated from Spanish: Garcia Harfuch confirms that the CJNG is responsible for the attack against him

Mexico City Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch reiterated that the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel is responsible for the attack against it on June 26.
At a press conference, the secretary detailed that the people who participated in the attack have already been identified, “including the subject who helped organize the attack, as well as those who ordered it.”
García Harfuch argued that the accusation against the CJNG is due to the reason that since last August they had evidence of a possible attack by this criminal group, although he ruled out a direct threat against him.

“More than threats, what is detected are intentions for these people to attack, since the Federal Police there have been threats but nothing serious, and in Mexico City we had already received alerts that they might attack,” he said.
The clerk added that he has already made a first statement to the Prosecutor’s Office holding the CJNG accountable and is about to make a second.
On how the CJNG operates, García Harfuch noted that this and other criminal groups have been in the capital for years in small cells per colony and not by mayor.
He denied that CJNG was currently the strongest group in the CDMX and that there is a space operation to combat them.
“We work on the disarticulation of small cells by colony regardless of the criminal group (…) now the most of the largest presence are the Tepito Union group and the Anti-Union group,” he said.
Regarding the seven injuries he received, he said he was still rehab only to care for two of them.
Due to his improvement, the secretary resumed his normal activities in the Secretariat of Citizen Security on Monday.
In the company of the head of government, Claudia Sheinbuam, García Harfuch thanked the media that gave coverage to the attack and the citizens who sent him messages of support.
He said this attack against him will not stop the SSC’s work to curb organized crime.

“Those who think they can weaken the fight against crime in Mexico City are wrong. Thousands of police, sailors, military and public ministries are willing, like their server, to take the risks necessary for our City to live in peace,” he concluded.
