In today’s morning report, the Government announced the system’s modification to account for coronavirus recovers. On Saturday, August 8, there were 108,242,000 people recovered in Argentina. 24 hours later, the number of patients recovered grew by more than 50 percent, and on Sunday 170,109 highs were confirmed, 61,867 more than in the previous report. For this reason, the growth of patients who received the definitive discharge affected the figures of people with the infection ongoing: this Saturday the patients were 122,985, today it is 67,146.
In this regard, Dr. Costa argued: “the discharges that we usually call ‘recovered’ and reported through the National Health Surveillance System have two avenues of information and notification to the community. One of them are the highs of inpatients, who are informed by each of the institutions and communicated at the population level. Then we have the non-inpatients, the mild cases, which the system automatically reports the discharge at ten days from the start date of symptoms. The epidemiology team has reviewed the databases at the national level and in those cases in which the National Health Surveillance System did not determine the start dates of symptoms, the reporting date of the cases was taken and the same period of ten days, in mild cases, was used to notify them as in discharge. This means that as recovered today, we report 61,867, 170,109 in total recovered, a percentage of 70.04% of the total confirmed cases”. Thus, by the injection of mild patients who did not aggravate their picture, there are already more people recovered from coronavirus than those who remain infected. It is worth clarifying that in the last week, the Ministry of Health had announced a major change in the diagnosis of patients. Last Thursday, in the morning report, Costa and Vizzotti announced that they empowered the provinces to confirm positive cases without a swab. In this way, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 will experience a promotion.
