AFP Modelo enabled a new website so that foreign citizens with problems with their identity card can withdraw their 10% online and thus avoid having to go to the branches. This, after the formulation of charges by the Superintendency of Pensions (SP) following an investigation process carried out by the agency, giving an account of a series of irregularities in the framework of the withdrawal process of 10% of the planned funds.
It should be noted that this solution is mainly for foreigners with identification or residency difficulties. For affiliates who do not yet make the withdrawal request, they can begin their processing without the need for additional documentation.
Affiliates will be able to enter a graphic record for the validation of their identity card and/or foreign documentation, which they previously had to do in person and which has generated agglomerations in some branches.
At AFP Modelo we have made important efforts to increase attention in branches, but unfortunately the limitations that exist because of the pandemic has prevented us from reaching the right levels.
Therefore, together with the implementation of the new website, we continue to look for mechanisms to improve face-to-face care. In particular, we are working to enable another larger venue as soon as possible, in Santiago Centro, which will be informed in a timely manner.
Regarding payments of 10%, until Thursday of this week, AFP Modelo made 1,402,968 transfers to the financial institutions of the affiliates, for withdrawal requests of 10% and additionally, we have created about 25,000 accounts 2, without commission collection and taxes, at the request of its customers.
It implies that 98 out of 100 people have already received the requested resources. Understanding the urgency with which affiliates require their money, AFP Modelo will continue to work proactively to resolve all particular cases and special situations that remain outstanding, many of which depend on third-party institutions and thus be able to complete 100% of withdrawal requests.
