A passenger boat rescued a 4-year-old girl off the coast of the city of Antirrio,Greece, after the strong current of the Mediterranean Sea took her away from the beach where she was swimming with her parents, local media report.
The port authority alerted the crew of the Salaminomachos ferry to the girl trapped in the sea with her unicorn float. In a video broadcast on social media on Monday, you can see how the current finally drove the little one to the ship’s boarding ramp, which was deployed by the ship’s captain, Grigoris Karnesis. “He was in shock. She was holding on to that float and she wasn’t moving, she was petrified,” Karnesis said. “When she saw us and we rescued her, she choked,” she added.

A few minutes later the boat docked at the port of Antirrio, where the girl’s parents, who had warned of her disappearance, were waiting for her. As the captain recalled, the mother was in a similar state to her daughter’s. “The impact was great for both of us,” he stressed.
