translated from Spanish: Court overturns INE order to suspend ‘mañanera’ in Hidalgo and Coahuila

The Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF) left without effect on Wednesday the order of the INE to suspend the transmission of the ‘morning’ conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Hidalgo and Coahuila, states where there will be elections on October 18.
In a statement on the determination of the magistrates and magistrates, after Morena challenged on 28 August, the Court noted that the INE’s order lacked “regulatory sustenment”, as it ruled on an act that had not been specific to its consideration.
“The Superior Chamber considers that the consultations that were made to the Institute did not include the subject of the transmission of the conferences of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador”, is mentioned in the Court’s newsletter.
This is given hours after President López Obrador, precisely at the morning conference, claimed the INE for having ordered the transmission of ‘la mañanera’ in Hidalgo and Coahuila, noting that these conferences guarantee the right to information of citizens.
“I don’t agree because this isn’t propaganda, it’s information, and we’ve also already filed our complaint on this issue. If I were calling to vote for a party or a candidate but here general issues are touched on, it is reported. We need to look at this issue, if it’s an intrusion into the electoral process,” he said.
