The Deliberative Council of Tiger today approved a draft ordinance regulating informed and safe access to cannabis for medicinal use and allowing self-cultivation for the same purpose, a municipal source reported. The initiative, developed by councillors of the Front of All, Javier Parbst and Florence Mosqueda was unanimously approved this noon. The ordinance incorporates Cannabis and its derivatives into the Public Health System of the Municipality of Tigre for the treatment of syndromes, disorders, diseases and pathologies such as epilepsy, degenerative diseases, cancer, nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy, HIV – AIDS, autism and West Syndrome.It will also be used for chronic pain, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, parkinson, schizophrenia, rare diseases, pain treatment, post-traumatic stress, among others.» The ordinance will allow to generate a register of neighbors who require products with cannabinoid principles, in order to be able to produce and consume them in a legal and safe framework, in addition to incentivized this prosperous industry in articulation with the private sector, with the corresponding regulation from the State,» explained the building. In addition, he stressed: «Progress is being made at the country level to end the stigma and persecution suffered by those who use these products, and we believe that this is one of the greatest achievements, social awareness.» The ediles developed the project by articulating with scientists from Conicet and INTA, as well as specialists in medical treatments with cannabis products. The Municipality will promote studies and research related to the use of cannabis and stimulate the public production of medicines based on their derivatives. The ordinance also authorizes the personal cultivation of cannabis to «take any patients (or their legal representatives, guardians or curators) who have a medical order to undergo treatment». A Medicinal Cannabis Cultivation Council will also be created with representatives of the Deliberative Council, Tiger Municipality, National Universities, Civil Organizations, INTA (National Institute of Agricultural Technology) and Anmat (National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology).
