Morelia, Michoacán.- The Michoacán Electoral Institute (IEM) in coordination with the National Electoral Institute (INE) invites Michoacan citizens to participate as observers and election observers in next year’s elections, they reported in a statement.
In Special Session last Friday, the General Counsel of the IEM unanimously approved the dissemination of the Call to participate as an observer or election observer for the Local Electoral Process 2020-2021.
Interested parties have until April 30th to send their data, request and documentation by email according to the call issued by the IEM.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Organization Commission, Viridiana Villaseñor Aguirre, explained the forms of registration in which Michoacans and Michoacans will be able to submit their applications from 11 September 2020 to 30 April next year.
“It may be presented in person at the Local or District Board of the National Electoral Institute, as well as in the offices of this Electoral Institute of Michoacán. For his part, Councillor Luis Ignacio Peña Godínez invited the Michaocanos to participate and exercise their right to contribute to democracy, also mentioned some of the objectives for those who decide to submit their application, including, observing an election, mentioning problems and irregularities, building trust in the process and results, and providing recommendations for future electoral processes.
The requirements for obtaining accreditation for election observation are:
1.- Be a Mexican citizen in full enjoyment of your civil and political rights;
2.- Not to be, or have been a member of national, state or municipal leadership of any organization or political party, in the three years prior to the election;
3.- Not to be, nor to have been a candidate for a position of popular election in the three years prior to the election;
4,. Take the training, preparation or information courses taught by the INE or the Institute or the organizations to which they belong; And
