Morelia, Michoacán.- Through a “Virtual Meeting with Clubs and Federations of Michoacan Migrants”, it was oriented to the connationals on electoral processes and their important participation from outside the country.
In the virtual meeting by videoconference organized by the Electoral Institute of Michoacán (IEM), the National Electoral Institute (INE), the participants agreed on the importance and need to promote credentialization in Mexican consulates, as well as the promotion of electronic voting for greater participation of the connationals in the upcoming elections.
In his speech, the President Of the IEM, Ignacio Hurtado Gómez endorsed the electoral management body’s commitment to create suitable scenarios for those who reside abroad and can participate in exercising their right to vote, while thanking the comments and concerns of migrants, as they help to optimize the processes for carrying out their vote.
Similarly, the president of the LOCAL Board of the INE in Michoacán, David Alejandro Delgado Arroyo, who participated as moderator of the event, highlighted the creation of these spaces, not only for their importance in the international event, but for the importance that the Michoacana migrant community represents for the institute.
For her part, Councillor Araceli Gutiérrez Cortés shared the guidelines that will guide the promotion and dissemination strategy that aims to promote migrant political participation, as well as provide tools to michoacans living outside the country to obtain their credential, register and vote.
In his participation, the Technical Secretary of the Executive Directorate of the Federal Register of Voters of the INE, César Ledesma Ugalde, mentioned that the process to participate will be simple and, to do so, it is necessary to have a valid voter’s credential, which can be processed in the consulates of Mexico abroad.
