This morning, the national government decreed Duel Nacional for the death of federal police troop Juan Pablo Roldán, stabbed yesterday afternoon in the Porteño neighborhood of Palermo.Through Decree 778/2020 published today in the Official Gazette and signed by President Alberto Fernández, Chief of Staff Santiago Cafiero and Security Minister Sabina Frederic, a day of mourning and the consequent National Flag was arranged.
Roldán served as a member of the federal force when a 52-year-old man identified as Rodrigo Facundo Roza suddenly stabbed him. The inspector was shot several times by the aggressor, who died hours later. From the site of the incident, the officer was transferred with serious injuries to the Mater Dei Sanatorium, where he died soon after.
