Disney continues to work on bringing its animated films to the big screen but in live action format. Year after year, the industry is releasing the renewed adaptations of the classics that aim to captivate audiences again and generate content according to the new generations.
This year “Mulán” premiered and although unfortunately the event could not be in the world cinemas – as planned for March, when the coronavirus pandemic erupted – it did reach its streaming platform.

Among the next ones will come “La Sirenita”, which as we anticipate, will bring together a cast of figures such as Halle Bailey, Javier Bardem, Melissa McCarthy and Jacob Tremblay; and “Cruella de Vil” with Emma Stone (“La la land”, “The help”) in the lead role. However, there are already rumors about the adaptations of “Hercules”, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and “Pocahontas”. On the latter, news began circulating that Mexican actress Yalitza Aparicio could star in the film. News that the networks celebrated.

The animated film “Pocahontas” first made it to theaters in 1993 and featured the voices of Irene Bedard, Christian Bale, Mel Gibson; and the soundtrack of master Alan Menken. So far, Disney has not confirmed the realization of its live action or who would lead the project. Yalitza Aparicio achieved remarkable popularity after his big-screen debut with Alfonso Cuarón in “Rome”, an Oscar-winning film for Best Foreign Film 2019.
