Guadalajara, Jalisco.- In the last 24 hours, jalisco joined 671 new contagions and 17 deaths from the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), the Ministry of State Health reported in the last technical report it issued, thus adding a total of 73,910 infected people and 3,398 fatalities from sarS CoV-2 virus that arrived last March. This weekend, Jalisco saw an increase in active cases of Coronavirus, so the governor, Enrique Alfaro called on the Jaliscienses to continue to apply the health protocols against the pandemic and thereby avoid pressing the emergency button, as this would mean curbing the state economy again.

At the end of September, the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, announced that Jalisco is already preparing to resume classes in person, however, the announcement was not well taken by the Secretariat of Federal Health, being Hugo López-Gatell who said that this should only be given when the state’s epidemiological traffic light is green, warning that the entity will remain orange and still have to go yellow and then green, so it could take another month to reach the status.
Regarding the situation of the pandemic in Jalisco, on October 4th Alfaro Ramírez lamented on his social networks that over the past week levels of contagion increased, which could subsequently lead to an increase in hospital occupation in Jalisco.
“Health measures have loosened, if we do not take them back, we will have to take steps backwards and that is not in anyone’s interest. We continue to reduce hospital occupancy, but the estimated case rate per million inhabitants is very close to reaching 400 and, if that happens, we would have to tighten the #BotónDeEmergencia.
He posted Alfaro Ramírez on Twitter next to an image in which he showed a graph with these figures.
“The health emergency has been very difficult for every family, business and business, and it has cost us all and all a lot to move forward with reviving our economy, but health is the most important thing. You know how to take care of yourself and how to take care of others, you know how to reduce the risks to avoid contagion. Use water covers, stay away from other people, and wash your hands constantly.”
The representative added, who emphasized that health protocols cannot be helped because they continue to be implemented in order to save lives and continue to revive our economy.
It should be remembered that throughout the pandemic the criteria for declaring a patient’s recovery officially have changed. Currently, symptomatic patients who meet a minimum of 10 days from the onset of symptoms and at least another 3 days without symptoms (no fever or respiratory symptoms) are considered as recovered under clinical criteria. As for asymptomatic patients, a period of 10 days after testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 is requested in order to be considered recovered. On 29 September, the Jalisco Ministry of Health also released that:
“People with heart disease are at increased risk of developing complications and getting worse if they have COVID 19, because it is not just a respiratory infection, but one that is now known, can affect other organs of the human body besides the lungs.”
The SSJ reiterates the importance of staying at home and leaving only for activities that are considered essential, as this drastically reduces the risk of contagion. It should be remembered that the reopening of commercial and public space turns has taken place as follows in Jalisco:
On June 15, the first opening was given to common spaces: squares and commercial corridors, hotels, gymnasiums and sports clubs, religious venues and visits to prisons.
Since last Monday, June 22, the mandatory use of water covers when boarding public transport was annuniated in addition to staggered schedules at the entrance to working hours: from 06:00 to 08:00 hours for the industrial and construction sector, 08:00 to 10:00 hours for government offices and services, at 10:00 for general trade and at 11:00 for shopping centers and corridors.

As of September 3, the southern part of the state of Jalisco already has a new place to carry out COVID-19 tests, it is the Laboratory of Biomedicine and Biotechnology for Health that was inaugurated in the South University Center (CUSur) of the University of Guadalajara (UdeG), located in the municipality of Zapotlán el Grande (Ciudad Guzmán).
On August 13th the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, pointed out that in the face of the health contingency it was decided to cancel the massive events of the months of August, September and October, so the Fistas Patrias, Copa Jalisco, as well as the October Festivities were discarded. In the case of La Romería, it will be carried out without the assistance of the faithful.
On September 17, the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, and Secretary of Education Flores Miramontes, reported the new route for the return to classes in person in the state, however, no date of return to the classrooms was yet.
