Several years ago it began to become normal to hear that large Chilean manufacturing companies leave local production and migrate to other countries seeking to lower their costs. This is normal, thinking that globalization brought to the country a lot of competitors with considerably lower prices, forcing the big ones to compete to the brink of bankruptcy.
The immediate consequence of this change in trend is the increase in unemployment of local artisans. Which is why Trauko Chile was born, an alternative for those who, as a result of globalization, became unemployed.
Today the Chilean company has already positioned itself as a gift alternative, with more than 24 thousand followers on social networks and thousands of customers who have trusted its products.
The project started with two friends a little over four years ago. His idea was simple: make a brand that sold leather goods, beautiful, good quality, at a fair price
Soon they realized that it would not be an easy path, as the trend was to import Chinese products, made with synthetic leather and much cheaper, regardless of whether they were of lower quality.
With the rescue of these thousands of jobless Chilean artisans, and many endangered artisanal techniques, the idea ceased to be a personal dream and became a real responsibility as the source of income for dozens of families and a conservation space for culture and national craft techniques.
