San Salvador, El Salvador.- The authorities of El Salvador reported on Monday that they seized 1200 kg of cocaine valued at $30 million (a figure that could increase), in two vans from Nicaragua bound for Guatemala.The Minister of Justice and Public Security of El Salvador, Rogelio Rivas, detailed to the news media that the drug was found in two procedures, one in Zacatecoluca, capital of the department of La Paz, and the other on the border El Amatillo, in the department of La Unión.

The two vehicles were driven by Nicaraguan citizens.
Rivas explained that “this is the second blow in the year to drug trafficking structures, and we have only impacted them on the crime of cocaine, at about $35 million.” La PazThe authorities intercepted a van on the road that leads from Zacatecoluca to San Salvador, and at the time of the inspection they found 600 kilograms of cocaine. One part was hidden in the fuel tank, and the other in a cove.

The Presidency Press Secretariat emphasized that “Zero” is the canine of the Anti-Narcotics Division (DAN) of the National Civil Police of El Salvador that helped detect the shipment of cocaine that was transferred in a van from Nicaragua.
