Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The cult of the Holy Death has been on the rise in Mexico, today here in Sinaloa has been no exception. The worshippers of this new cult have set up altars in their own homes, and others have made them extensively and placed altars in public places, so that anyone who wishes to pray to this new popular culture. An example of this is that in Culiacán they installed another new public altar to the Holy Death, at the crossroads of the boulevards Las Torres and Army of the West, in the Chulavista sector.

They mentioned that most of the candles are installed by young people riding motorcycles, who start arriving at night to light them, and after a few minutes they retire. No one has tried to remove it.
As to whether any municipal authority has approached the site where the altar is installed to remove it because it is in a place of recreation, they noted that so far no one has come forward. They said they did not know who or those who installed the image, which has gradually been gaining worshippers.
