“It is unacceptable the silence of the state, it is unacceptable that in a democracy this repression and rape will occur to people who legitimately mobilize in social protest,” Senate President Adriana Muñoz (PPD) said, after announcing that a working table will be formed to seek “reparation” for “victims of human rights violations” during the social outburst. This would be, as explained by the Parliamentarian, a task in conjunction with the Commission on Human Rights of the Upper House, in order to “charge us with collecting in a historical report, in a text, all the testimonies that as the Commission on Human Rights we received last year in all the multiple organized sessions”, she said.
