Merida, Yucatan.- The National Weather System (SMN), of the National Water Commission (Conagua) reported knowing that Hurricane “Zeta” degraded to tropical storm around 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Conagua detailed that “Zeta weakened to tropical storm, approximately 140 kilometers east-southeast of Progreso, Yucatan”. However, it continues to cause winds of 110 kilometers per hour (km/h), with gusts of 140 km/h and moves northwest to 22 km/h, towards waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Zeta continues to lash in the Yucatan Peninsula and over the next few hours will maintain torrential rains (150 to 250 millimetres) [mm]) in northern Quintana Roo and eastern Yucatan. Likewise, it will cause heavy rains in the states of Chiapas, Campeche and Tabasco.In addition, waves of 4 to 7 meters high are expected on the coasts of Yucatan and Quintana Roo, with possible thrombus.
