Morelia, Michoacán.- The Government of Morelia through its Ministry of Culture has strengthened community cultural development, boosted cultural enterprises and the creative industry with a culture of peace approach, prevention of violence against women, addictions and guaranteeing the cultural rights of citizens, said its owner Cardiela Amézcua Luna, who would emphasize that the Secretariat in charge is one of the youngest municipal units of the City Council in recalling was created in 2017 and in the administration of the municipal president, Raúl Morón Orozco has worked to strengthen it.

Amézcua Luna recalled that actions and activities have been carried out on two sides mainly with the #CulturaEnTuCasa and “Morelia es Cultura” programmes, with which recognition has been obtained by the United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
In this sense, the owner of SeCultura, Cardiela Amézcua, assured that in response to the health contingency by Covid-19 the program “Culture in your House” was launched, recognized by the representative of Unesco in Mexico, Fréderick Vacheron, as “a project so that citizens can exercise their cultural rights that are a fundamental resource of resilience, to maintain human and social cohesion links”, as well as being the first municipality to respond with a proposal to the contingency. Coupled with the protection of the social fabric and boosting the economy through the promotion, entrepreneurship of the creative industries.
In addition, the Secretary of Culture of Morelia stated that work has been done together with cultural companies in the creation of health protocols for the gradual reopening of their properties and in this municipal administration will also be included in the catalog of municipal operating licenses the turns of the creative industries for their strengthening.
For his part, the director of Emblematic Culture, César Cortés Pérez, commented that different activities, programs and actions have been carried out with a total of 356 cultural interactions from January to October 2020, which were divided between the face-to-face and the virtual in the face of health contingency, with activities such as exhibitions, meetings, parades, fairs, festivals, crafts, folk art, folk art, traditional arts and community culture, between face-to-face and virtual.
