Morelia, Michoacán. – As part of the clean-up actions carried out by the Administration led by the mayor of Morelia, Raúl Morón Orozco, to keep the city clean and free of harmful fauna, this Saturday brigades of the Directorate of Solid Waste under the Secretariat of Public Services, carried out the cleaning of the margins and the water mirror of the Chiquito River.

These actions were carried out on Avenida Solidaridad, on the stretch of Avenida Camelinas to Ventura Puente, where about 2 thousand 200 tons of garbage were collected.

There, mainly inorganic waste was removed that is dumped and abandoned by citizens, who irresponsiblely pollute this body of water that passes through the city regardless of the accumulation of waste and that becomes a focus of infection.

It is important to mention that these brigades have been cleaning in the Chiquito River at the height of the monument to Lazaro Cardenas, where 350 kilos of plastic (PET) have been collected.

In this sense, the municipal government reiterates the urge of citizens to avoid littering in prohibited places, as cleaning the city is a shared task.
