Morelia, Mich. – With the aim of strengthening interinstitutional coordination within the framework of the implementation of the Approved Protocol for the Search for Missing and Non-Localized Persons, this day the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán (FGE) held the working meeting with operational links of the State Committee for the Search and Location of Persons and the collaboration group of Amber Alert and Alba Michoacán Alert.
During the activity held through virtual platform, Sandra Perales Valencia, Specialized Prosecutor for the Investigation and Prosecution of Crimes of Enforced Disappearance of Persons and Disappearance Committed by Individuals, highlighted that these kinds of days are of great importance and usefulness since in this way new knowledge and search tools are acquired that help in the localization of people.
In this regard, it noted that an agenda of regular activities had been proposed with a view to improving practices regarding the dissemination of the certificate, and thereby complying with the provisions of the Approved Protocol for the Search of Missing and Non-Localized Persons, published in the Official Journal of the Federation on 6 October and which would enter into force from 6 January.
Finally, it was pointed out that the principles contained in the Law on the Subject which states that searches for missing persons should be carried out immediately, in a timely, transparent manner, on the basis of useful information and always directed in the location of the person, should be prioritized and addressed.
This activity was attended by the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), State Commission for the Search of Persons, Private Assistance Board, Morelia Municipal Comprehensive Family Development System (DIF), State Victim Care Commission, Secretariat of the Governorate (Segob), Secretariat for Communications and Transport (SCT), Secretariat for Substantive Equality and Women’s Development
Michoacanas (Seimujer), State Command Center, Communications, Computing, Control, Coordination and Intelligence (C5i), and the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE).
