The election management authority determined that legislators should register a letter of intent to re-election no later than midnight on 22 December, given that the pre-campaign period for federal meps begins on Wednesday. However, last night, the federal Electoral Court granted extending the deadline until the first business day of 2021, that is, next January 4.

Among the applicants to retain the position are controversial profiles such as that of Jorge Emilio González Martínez, “El Niño Verde”, of the PVEM, who applied indefinite leave to his curul since April last year; Gerardo Fernández Noroña of the PT, as well as the exerredistas – now petrists – Mauricio Toledo, former mayor of Coyoacán pointed out of acts of corruption, and Héctor Serrano, who was a close collaborator of Miguel Angel Mancera in the Government of Mexico City.
