The boy Daniel Emiliano became the first baby of 2021 at birth at 00:00 with a second at THE Hospital de Gineco-Obstetricia No. 4 of the IMSS, «Luis Castelazo Ayala», in Mexico City.
The baby was born under strict health protection measures against Covid-19 to provide the security required to prevent contagion, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) reported.
A team of seven specialists from the High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) received Daniel Emiliano who is the first rightholder born in the IMSS of 2021, weighing 3 kilos 325 grams, a measure of 49 centimeters and born by C-section; her mother, Fátima Martínez Guillén, was cared for after it was detected that there was discreet decrease in amniotic fluid.
Daniel Emiliano was born vigorously, immediately breathed as soon as he looked at his head and had an APGAR rating of 9/9, a rapid examination that was performed the first and fifth minutes after the baby’s birth, where a good heart rate, muscle tone was obtained and that did not require additional medical or emergency help, the institute noted.
The baby was born after 38 weeks with 6 days gestation and is in perfect health, as is her mother, Mrs. Fátima Martínez, 29, originally from Mexico City and who is a housewife.
