A couple of women, from initials N.A.G.C (33) and G.E.C.O 41 (41), were physically assaulted and insulted by their sexual orientation and gender expression by a group of six people.
The events occurred in the Pedro Lira town of Puente Alto, when G.E.C.O. was chatting with a neighbor and, without reason, six people approached, between men and women who had previously insulted the couple with lesbophobic messages.
Instantly the aggressors started “tipping punches on the back and ear to my partner leaving her without hearing and bleeding, while they were screaming ‘faggots culias, we’re going to rape them to have the lesbian removed. They should die, we’re going to kill them. There should be no filthy living here,” said N.A.G.C, who was at first of all inside his home.
Hearing the first insults, N.A.G.C left her home to see what was going on, at which point she also began to be beaten, “pushed and kicked on the ground by people we don’t know exactly their names, but we do know they’re neighbors around where we live in community. It all happened for no reason, they just waited for the opportunity to do this to us,” narrated one of the victims in conversation with the Homosexual Integration and Liberation Movement (Movilh), who are providing legal and psychological support to the couple.
“They insulted us about our relationship and our haircut, making rude mentions about intimate parts of our bodies, about our way of life and expressing ourselves,” N.A.G. concluded.C
After the attack of lesboodium, the women found Carabineros’ injuries, later jJunto with legal guidance to the victims, the Movilh spokesotor, Daniela Andrade, expressed her full solidarity to the affected couple. “In different parts of the country many still think they have the power to decide how other people should love or express who we are. Well, they’re wrong. Freedom and respect is what must prevail, as well as the justice that hopes to be achieved in court,” he said.
