Two elements of the National Guard were arrested in Yucatan, when they carried approximately 450 kilograms of marijuana and 15 and amphetamine (glass).

According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) of Yucatan, the shipment came from the State of Mexico and was in the destination Quintana Roo.
The drug was hidden in two wooden closets and cardboard boxes that were transported in a pickup truck, on the Federal Campeche-Merida highway.
The Yucatan SSP noted that the uniforms simulated a move, however, a canine element marked the van, and after a review state policemen confirmed the contents of the furniture and boxes.

In this regard, the National Guard approved the action of the two elements and instructed the Internal Affairs Unit to collaborate with the relevant instances in integrating the research folder to determine responsibilities.

“The National Guard reiterates its rejection of any conduct far from law enforcement and which unfortunately damages the image of this noble institution. in this sense, that there is no doubt that all elements that do not attach to the framework of legality and unrestricted respect for human rights will be punished by all legal and administrative means,” he said in a statement.
The two detainees, initials J.C.R.M. and D.W.P., both 38 years old, were made available to the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic along with the vehicle and the drug.
