Nearly 800 establishments on the Atlantic Coast were controlled by an operation of the Government of the province of Buenos Aires to monitor compliance with covid-19 prevention protocols. “We found a very positive conclusion from the operative. Most met these requirements and there was a high commitment of employers to respect and adhere to these measures as a prevention in the face of the advancement of the pandemic,” said Provincial Minister of Labor Mara Ruiz Malec. According to the official’s stated, the high compliance “was the product of the strong campaign carried out by the Province and the work articulated together with the chambers and trade union representatives of the different sectors”.
93% of the companies and shops inspected complied with the covid-19 prevention protocols, as set out in Resolution 135/20. “The inspection had an effective prevention outcome. Six out of ten companies encouraged to adapt some aspect of occupational health and safety, corrected it on the second visit,” Said Ré.Detected a lack of staff registration or incorrect settlement of wages in a minimal share of the inspected locations. 72.5% of the establishments surveyed complied with the regulations.
The operation had multiple actions on the Atlantic coast, such as those carried out by the Undersecretariat for Employment and Labour Relations, which provided for the installation of stands, at various points, to provide information on labor programs, proposals, and provide free legal advice for workers. Some 300 people brought timely conflict consultations to the team of lawyers, as well as others related to access to work and employment programs for the unemployed.
