A group of women was encapsulated by Mexico City policemen as they tried to reach the gates of Palacio Nacional, to protest Against Félix Salgado Macedonio’s possible candidacy for Guerrero’s gubernatura.
The group of feminist protesters arrived from the early hours of this Tuesday on the board of the Zocalo and began the protests after the beginning of the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Moments later, police officers from the Atenea group, made up of women, encapsulated the protesters and began a confrontation between the two groups.
Police managed to take the protesters to 20 November street, where they are still encapsulated.
According to Noticieros Televisa, after demonstrating at Palacio Nacional, the women would head to the national headquarters of Morena.

When questioned about the demonstration, President López Obrador said that there is nothing more to add on the subject of Salgado Macedonio.
“I’m not going to answer, I’ve already said what I think (…) there’s nothing more to say or add. I don’t want to have an opinion,” he replied.

The president argued that the people of Guerrero will be the only one who will decide, through a democratic process, whether Felix Salgado Macedonio comes to the candidacy to be governor.
“I maintain that there should be no lynchings for politicking and that is why there are legal bodies, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the judges, the judiciary. And that’s what I can say. It is very regrettable that the feminist movement is used for other purposes, when does conservatism sympathize with the feminist movement here?” he questioned.

On Monday night, Morena’s leadership reported that the survey in Guerrero will be repeated to “definitely” elect her candidate or candidate for the bernatura.
This after the National Commission on Honesty and Justice (CNHJ) questioned the suitability of Felix Salgado Macedonio, accused of rape and sexual abuse.
The results of the new survey will be reported in the coming days.
