Health authorities recorded 866 more deaths from COVID-19, with already a 191,789 deaths confirmed by the disease.
They also reported 7,407 new cases, bringing 2 million to 137,884 people who have become ill with the virus since the onset of the epidemic.
However, 45 thousand 85 (2%) are considered to be are active cases of COVID, because they have symptoms in the last 14 days.
At a press conference, authorities noted that cases are being declined nationally, reporting a 14% decrease between weeks 6 and 7 of the year.
Ruy López Ridaura, director of the Center for Preventive Programs and Disease Control of the Ministry of Health, argued that there are no entities with epidemic peaks, following the peak reached at the national level at the beginning of 2021.
Apply more than 3 million doses against COVID
Since December, three million 100 thousand 868 doses of COVID vaccines have been applied in Mexico; the complete schemes (two doses) have been 605 thousand 801.
On Tuesday, 202 thousand 701 doses were applied, according to authorities.
588 372 frontline health workers (73%) have already received the second dose of vaccine.
While one million 670 thousand 263 older adults already received the first application.
