Morelia, Michoacán.- The municipal president of Morelia, Humberto Arróniz Reyes, led the event held on the occasion of the 83rd anniversary of the Oil Expropriation, which took place on the esplanade of Melchor Ocampo Square.
On March 18, 1938, the President of Mexico, Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, issued the decree of the Oil Expropriation, thus passing it into the hands of Mexicans and securing benefits for the whole people.
The event was attended by the Municipal President, Humberto Arróniz Reyes; Roberto Monroy García, Secretary of Tourism; Cardiela Amezcua, Secretary of Culture; Selma Sánchez, welfare secretary; Mario Rodríguez Loeza, Secretary of Urban Planning and Public Works; among other morelia government officials. During the event, the corresponding civic honors were held and theization of the flag of Mexico was given way.
The Government of Morelia shares the values of the decree of General Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, by giving the morelians results that guarantee a better quality of life with a responsible and honest administration.
