Ivonne Gallegos Carreño, pan candidate for the municipal presidency of Ocotlán de Morelos, Oaxaca, was killed in a gunshot attack in Santo Tomás Jalieza.
Marko Cortés, national leader of national action, condemned the assassination and demanded a thorough investigation, justice and punishment of those responsible.

According to early indequators, the former staff girl was travelling aboard a white van with another person, who was injured, but authorities have not given any further information about the attack.
Gallegos Carreño was president of the Gender Equity Commission in the local Legislature, she was also a former member of the Secretariat of Indigenous Affairs of the current government.
Six years ago, José Luis Méndez Lara, husband of the panista, was also killed.
