After the consagaration of Boca Juniors in a new final against River, and the participation of both clubs in the Copa Libertadores that was held in the country, the draw of the groups was announced and the beginning of the first date of the Opening Tournament 2021.On this occasion, 19 teams will be divided into two zones. Zone A, consisting of Boca, Deportivo Español, Defensores de Belgrano, Gimnasia, SAT, Racing, San Lorenzo, Lanús and El Porvenir, will be nine teams, so there will be a free date for each set. In Zone B there will be 10 teams and they will play nine consecutive intervals. It features River, Communications, Hikers, Students of La Plata, Hurricane, Villa San Carlos, Rosario Central, UAI Urquiza, Independiente and Platense.The game format is a round of all against each and the first four of each group qualify for the quarterfiamates.
