translated from Spanish: INE to unregistry candidates with complaints of gender-based violence

The United Commissions on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination, and Prerogatives and Political Parties of the National Electoral Institute (INE) approved the integration of an interdisciplinary group that reviews and corroborates the information given by candidates in the format ‘3 out of 3 against violence’.
In a statement, the INE detailed that if applicants have been convicted or punished for family violence, gender assault, sexual offences or sexual freedom, or are food delinquent, their registration will be cancelled.

The interdisciplinary group will be in charge of the Executive Secretariat and will be composed of the Executive Directorate of Prerogatives and Political Parties, the Technical Unit on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination, the Technical Unit of the Electoral Litigation and the Legal Directorate, with the support of local and district boards.
During April, the group will make injunctions to prison, judicial and/or probation authorities to request the record determined by final resolution related to crimes of family and/or domestic violence, any gender assault and crimes against sexual freedom or bodily privacy.
It will also require information on the quality of the food debtor determined by a final decision in the State registers and, where appropriate, the higher courts of justice of each entity.
