The Ministry of Health announced that coVID vaccination for people between the ages of 50 and 59 will begin from May.
At a press conference, Undersecretary of Health Hugo López-Gatell held the screening to end vaccination in adults over the age of 60 by April 30.

“Without interruption we started the vaccine for people in the next block of age, aged 50 to 59, plus anyone over the age of 60 who for whatever reason was not vaccinated during stage 1,” he said.

The second dose is also planned to be applied this month to all people who, up to that point, need them, such as health workers and older adults.
In addition, vaccination will be resumed to educational staff in case there is no risk of a third wave of contagion.
“We will resume, as long as we have evidence that the risk of a third wave does not seem imminent, we will resume vaccination to educational staff in other entities following the same criteria (states with green traffic lights),” he insisted.
Lopez-Gatell said there is no immediate relationship in ending vaccination and opening schools, so there is also the possibility of vaccinating educational staff in states with yellow traffic lights.
On the registration of persons over the age of 50, he said that the mechanism could be followed at site mivacuna.salud.gob.mx, as well as in fieldwork in coordination with the Welfare Secretariat and the National Population Register.
