Mexico.- The Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF) of new account rejected the request of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) for the payment of the fine that the National Electoral Institute (INE) put on sale on the Free Market its electoral roll. The penalty was more than 84 million pesos, which will have to be taken from its budget for the current electoral processes.

The Institutional Revolutionary had argued that paying 84 million 388 thousand 178 pesos would damage the level playing field in election elections 2020-2021, hence asking for a new deadline to comply with the sanction after the election was held on Sunday, June 6. However, as on previous occasions, such an application was denied by the electoral court. In the face of such a situation, the party led by Alejandro Moreno sent a letter to the INE asking him to consider the economic conditions under which the party was gone, coupled with elections this year as evidence for the amount to be settled after the election was completed. However, the request was declined by the electoral arbitrator, since changing the resolution validated by the General Council would violate the principle of legal certainty and definability, as a result, the party association re-filed with the TEPJF, a body that remained firm not to change the time limit, sending it to the fine.
