Argentina's Ministry of Health confirmed on Friday the diagnosis of another 24,130 new cases of coronavirus, surpassing the recorded until Thursday for the fourth consecutive day, with 23,683 positives. In total, there are 2,497,881 people in Argentina who have contracted the disease since the origin of the pandemic, of whom 2,203,926 have recovered, compared to the 57,350 who have died, 228 in the last 24 hours. The regions most affected are the Province of Buenos Aires, with 1,062,432 cases accumulated and 29,237 dead; the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, with 280,594 positives and 6,833 deces; and Santa Fe, which adds up to 240,025 contagions and 4,323 fatalities. With regard to the vaccination plan, health authorities have reported that 4,956,023 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine, representing 10 per cent of the population, while 711,059 were given both. This week Argentine President Alberto Fernández announced new restrictions until April 30 due to increased cases, such as a curfew between midnight and 6 a.m. the next day, local time, in areas of greatest epidemiological risk, as well as private meetings, as well as capacity limits in some sports establishments and practices.
