According to reports from the Reforma newspaper, the licensed senator warned that if they don’t return the candidacy “we’re going to challenge him again and we’re going to beat them again.”
Accompanied by his family, Salgado Macedonio claimed that he was not Morena’s pre-born, so the inE sanction was undue.
“We were coordinators, we weren’t pre-orders, there’s no document that says I was a pre-call,” he said.
In the morning, from Iguala, the starting point of the caravan, he warned that if he is not on the ballot there will be no choice.
Salgado Macedonio also assured that his protest against the INE “will be peaceful” and denied that his followers had instruments in his possession that could be used violently.
During a stop in the vehicular caravan he heads, Salgado Macedonio said that the INE should not have in its hands the audit of Guerrero’s electoral process, rather it should be the responsibility of the state’s Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute.

For now, the INE must assess whether it maintains the penalty of denying it registration as a candidate for Guerrero’s government or whether the fault merits only an economic fine or a public warning.
The Superior Chamber of the Federal Electoral Court gave the INE 48 hours to re-impose the sanction on the morayers Félix Salgado and Raúl Morón for not reporting pre-campaign expenses and income.
