Guanajuato, Mexico.- During his visit to the Country Market, a merchant claimed Ricardo Sheffield Padilla, candidate for mayor of León, Guanajuato, for having “changed his shirt” from the National Action Party (PAN) to Morena.
This Friday, the candidate took a tour of that shopping area and stopped to talk to several local anglers, when one of them incredulous him to claim his party change.

“Why would I have to vote for you?” he questioned. “Because Leon is in need of transformation, ” replied the candidate.
“No, no, ” interrupted the trader. “We’ve been transforming it since the PAN came to power.”
“But it was corrupted,” said the former puppeteer of the Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco).
“You were corrupted, because you are changing like footballers every season of T-shirt. How am I going to believe in you?”
“You do live in deception, sir, for that lord is a liar; hasn’t bought a single vaccine to vaccinate people. He’s an irresponsible father because he doesn’t give them what they need. You don’t have to give them fish, you have to teach them how to fish.”
The merchant alluded to public programs promoted by Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, noting that the population needs no gifts but mechanisms to secure their work.
“I don’t want presents, I want to be provided with what I need. The medium, whatever it takes. And I’m not going to vote for you,” he concluded.
Sheffield was mayor of Leon for National Action from 2009 to 2012. Although he planned to start his campaign from Monday, he did not succeed because the Guanajuato Electoral Institute declared Morena’s records inappropriate because they did not have the gender parity composition on their forms.
