“What can’t be put a sanction other than taking away the right to participate (in the elections)?, questioned President Andrés López Obrador about the INE’s decision to revoke Félix Salgado Macedonio’s candidacy for Guerrero’s gubernatura.
During his morning lecture, the representative reiterated that he distrusts the decisions of the electoral management body, minimized the accusations against Salgado for sexual abuse and rape, and considered them to be “fabricated crimes.”
“Since there are no elements (for the accusation of rape) in this case you move to another crime, because no, you can’t,” he said.
He indicated that if the electoral authorities withdraw Salgado Macedonio’s candidacy to Guerrero’s gubernatura it would be “by slogan”.
Justifies Salgado threats
When questioned about Salgado Macedonio’s threats against INE counselors, López Obrador justified his statements and said that fraud must be fought peacefully, without violence, as he did, but that it is a right to defend democracy.

“I have suffered from those above, I suffered them very much. They robbed us of the presidency, they lent the fraud, how do they justify that?”
Yesterday, during his planting at the facilities of the Instituto Nacional Electoral, in Mexico City, Félix Salgado Macedonio threatened the counselors involved in the revocation of his candidacy for the governor of Guerrero.
“If they are not claimed, I tell them at once, we will find them at seven, we will look for them and we will go to see Córdova, wouldn’t the people of Mexico like to know where Lorenzo Córdova lives? How’s your little house, in black foil that when it rains it drips and wets your body, you little bastard?” Salgado said to his supporters.
In this regard, López Obrador asked that there be no violence, no physical or verbal, that there be respect, but no one wants to disqualify the bad and continued to defend Salgado’s candidacy.
“Now the garments are torn, ah that’s violence! And what, fraud or wanting to stop me from getting a candidate not to participate, right? Why not let the people decide, that’s not a grievance, it’s not an attack on democracy,” he said.
“Pre-bell costs are pretext”
The representative said the indictment against Salgado Macedonio for not presenting a pre-camp expense report is a “pretext” for not granting him the candidacy and reiterated that behind there are vested interests.

“How come you didn’t check precampagna expense? 120 thousand pesos, 130 thousand pesos, 150 thousand pesos. To start that match, Morena, did not, I’m told, have pre-parties. Well, there were either thousands of pre-projects.”
“Their argument is ‘there were no pre-minutes’, but they are said not to have checked 130 thousand, 140 thousand pesos. That you can’t put a penalty other than taking away your right to participate, when have you done that, when?” he questioned.
He reiterated that it must be the people who decide whether they are a bad citizen.
