Data from the Ministry of Education reveal that 84% of teachers have already reached maximum immunity against covid-19, after more than two weeks have passed since the guild received the second dose of the vaccine on April 13.
The figure is expected to increase to 89% in the coming days, as 5% of teachers received the second dose in the days after April 13.
Mineduc detailed that as of 13 April, 421,678 education workers out of the 513,621 who make up this segment received the second dose of the covid-19 vaccine. The figure represents 80%, consignment Emol.
In this regard, Minister Raúl Figueroa said that overcoming 80% immunization among education workers is “a key element in providing peace of mind to educational communities, especially as schools, schools and kindergartens begin to reopen their doors to resume face-to-face classes, when health conditions permit.”
The group with the highest number of people vaccinated with both doses is managers and teachers, with 217,007 immunized staff out of 253,094. The figure equates to 86% of the total. Then the assistants of education follow with 136,089 vaccinated (80%), and the technicians of kindergartens with 38,878 (74%).
On the other hand, the regions with the highest percentage of education officials vaccinated at both doses are: Uble (85%); O’Higgins (84%); Metropolitan (83%); Biobío (83%); Antofagasta (83%) and Los Lagos (83%).
Private schools paid are those with the highest percentage of officials vaccinated at two doses (88%), followed by municipal establishments and subsidized individuals with 83%. It is followed by local education services (80%), and finally kindergartens (76%).
