Morelia, Michoacán.- This Friday was held the eighth day of cleaning of the Flood Prevention Program carried out by the City of Morelia with the Interinstitutional Brigade. On this occasion, the activity carried out in arroyo del Gallo, at the height of the Residential colony Los Duraznos, in order to prevent and reduce the risks of flooding in six (06) colonies that adjoin this tributary.
The work began at 08:00 and concluded at 14:00 hours with workers from the Morelia Drinking Water, Sewerage and Sanitation Operator Agency (OOAPAS), and the Solid Waste Directorate (Secretariat of Public Services). During this time, cleaning and splashing of the creek boards was carried out, removing a total of 25 tons of weeds and garbage. The activity was also used to remove azolvado material and garbage from the sewers located in the vicinity of the Arroyo.
The cleaning days will continue according to the schedule scheduled, until July, so that the city’s infrastructure is ready for the next rainy season.
