translated from Spanish: Defense of Hugo Gutierrez requests date for hearing before the Iquique Guarantee Court: “He will appear”

A hearing before the Iquique Guarantee Court requested the defense of former PC deputy and Constitutional Convention candidate Hugo Gutierrez to appear and make a statement in the case that was opened against him for the crime of threats to Navy officials.
This defense decision came after the Supreme Court rejected the appeal it had filed to dispose the arrest warrant against it, as Gutierrez was wanted by the Investigation Police (POI) for not coming to justice.
One of Gutierrez’s lawyers Boris Paredes explained to Emol that “the brief has already been submitted, he is going to appear and a date is being set to go,” along with stressing that the police search is ineffective.
“He seemed in writing, which is the form that exists for these minor crimes and more so when we are in pandemic. He pointed to his address and asked for a date to be present at the hearing, this was done yesterday and today there should be a resolution,” he explained.
“We are available for hether it is, because we want to settle this as soon as possible and we believe it entitles us to a definitive dismissal, because they have no powers to investigate,” he said.
