On March 15, a group of armed men arrived at the home of Joseph of Jesus and Abraham Covarrubias Martínez, in Zalatitán, Tonalá, Jalisco, and took them away.
A relative told mural that the family asked 911 for help when the armed subjects surrounded the house. Soon after, cops arrived.
According to the relative, the gunmen took them despite the police presence. “They started knocking down my door, the gate and then the door of the room where we were,” the relative said, “he was not identified for safety in the paper.

The Prosecutor’s Office opened the investigative folder 18276/2021 on the complaint of relatives for the abduction of the brothers.
According to UDGTV, José de Jesús studied Energy Engineering at the University Center of Tonalá (CUTonalá) and Abraham aspired to a law degree from the University of Guadalajara (UdeG).
They asked to track them through their phones, but, the family says, the authorities didn’t.
After the abduction of the brothers, the family left their home and moved for fear of another place.
This Friday, at a press conference, Jalisco’s Special Prosecutor of missing persons, Blanca Trujillo Cuevas, said investigations found that “one of the victims had an altercation, argues with some people, enters her home, takes a firearm of her property and begins an assault between one of the victims and the defendants.”

He added that in the confrontation one of the defendants was injured. At the site was a vehicle and the weapon of one of the defendants.
“After these events happen, the second missing person moves from this place of events the vehicle in which the defendants had arrived and goes and removes it and puts it in a different place.
“In the minutes, unfortunately, armed people arrive, they do the deprivation of these people,” he said.
“This couple of young men are still missing,” she said. It added that test data was already available to identify the likely perpetrators.
This case is released after the abduction of three other brothers on May 7 in Guadalajara.
Armed men arrived at the home of Luis Angel, 32, José Alberto, 29, and Ana Karen, 24, took them away. Three days later the authorities found their bodies.
