Until the Liceo Benjamín Vicuña Mackenna, in the commune of La Florida, the president of the Medical College, Izkia Siches, came to fulfill her civic duty, on a day of historic elections for Chile.
The holder of the medical guild urged the citizenry to participate, maintaining the corresponding health guards. “This is my first public activity since my daughter’s birth and I wanted to make a space just to call on our country’s citizens to participate in this democratic process, to do so in an orderly manner with all prevention measures,” she said.
Dr. Siches expects high participation and invited “younger people” to participate in the process.
“These are very essential processes for citizens, we are already in this voting process. I and all the citizens and all our medical school managers are going to participate in the voting process, and we have called citizenship, even though the numbers are not as optimal, participate,” he said.
“If we do it with physical distance, with mask, using alcohol gel, that polling places are well ventilated, the risk of contagion is much lower, but we do have a lot of respect for the spaces of celebration that can happen later,” he added.
Consulted by health measures during the celebrations, Izkia Siches called on the commandos, the Political Parties, the candidates, “especially those who are going to emerge victorious, not to relax in the process of celebration”.
