The Justice of Uruguay rejected Fabián “Pepín” Rodríguez Simón’s habeas corpus appeal to block the international capture order covered by Judge María Servini de Cubria, who investigated him for unlawful association and extortion. Eastern Magistrate Marcelo Malvar rejected it as Interpol Uruguay has so far received no arrest request against Rodríguez Simón. That is, Servini issued the order but they were not yet notified in Uruguay.
In the same line, the prosecutor of the case, Pablo Rivas, had been expressed, since the arrest warrant did not reach Uruguay.The MP of the Parlasur for the PRO and member of the famous judicial table of Cambiamos called political asylum as a “political persecuted”, a term rejected by Servini since he considered that his crimes “can in no way be considered political crimes”. Rodríguez Simón is investigated for his actions in the cases of the entrepreneurs Cristóbal López and Fabián de Sousa, who reported that during the macrism the lawyer worked to get them out of their companies.
Even President Alberto Fernández himself, who worked as a lawyer for the entrepreneurs, referred to Rodriguez Simón’s request: “Let’s be serious: all justice knew that you were the emissary of the national government, that you were going to ask for the necessary judgments and operate tomorrow, afternoon and night,” he said. Vice-President Cristina Kirchner went further and published a letter saying that “masks fall off” and that “the true face of macrism appears: lie, cynicism and true impunity in Argentina, theirs.”
