The Green Party denounced the deprivation of freedom of its mayoral candidate from Uruapan, Michoacán, Omar Plancarte Hernández.
The state attorney’s office said it had launched an investigation following the political institute’s complaint.
“From the first moment the event was reported, urgent steps were taken to clarify it,” the unit said without detailing further information on the case.
Meanwhile, the Michoacán Police deployed a candidate search operation, in the town of Caurio, as well as nearby, where vehicle review filters and patrols are said to be carried out.

On Tuesday, the candidate of citizen movement to the mayor of Moroleón, in Guanajuato, Alma Barragán, was murdered, with which 88 politicians killed in the current electoral process, according to the consultancy Etellekt.
