This Monday the face-to-face classes in the City of Buenos Aires for the children of kindergarten, primary and first and second year of secondary school -the latter under a bimodal system- returned, and, with the return to the classrooms, the tension between the national authorities and Buenos Aires also returned to the scene. This morning, The Nation’s Education Minister, Nicolas Trotta, took aim at the Buenos Aires ruling party and said that “the situation in the Federal Capital is uninscionable.”
In this regard, he pointed out that “part of what the decree proposes is the will not to partisanize any discussion related to the importance of presence” and recalled the resolution of the Federal Council, which “mentions that in the only case in which education must be developed in a non-face-to-face way is before an epidemiological alarm based on objective variables” , and that, he remarked, “is mandatory throughout the territory.” The Federal Capital is more than doubling the incidence rate postulated by the DNU to suspend face-to-face classes. The head of government is putting at risk the health of the entire educational community: the bad decisions of the City and the speculations of the City end up putting the entire Argentine society at risk; the speed of multiplication in the rest of the country had a much more marked pace than in the first wave,” Trotta said, speaking to El Destape Radio.
