The Attorney General’s Office of Hidalgo announced the arrest of seven municipal policemen of the municipality of Progreso de Obregón, for their alleged responsibility in the femicide of the doctor Beatriz Hernández Ruíz, who died hours after being arrested by the elements on June 9.
According to the State Attorney’s Office, the accused were admitted to the Social Reintegration Center of Mixquiahuala de Juárez, and later presented to the corresponding court.

Meanwhile, the municipal government denounced that the detention not only of policemen, but also of administrative assistants (three women and 4 men), was illegal.
“They have been illegally deprived of liberty by agents of the State Attorney General’s Office, when they voluntarily came as witnesses in the investigation file, in order to assist, with the clarification of the facts,” the city council said in a statement.
Municipality accuses political persecution
The municipality of Progreso de Obregón said that 50 members of the Hidalgo Public Security Secretariat stripped the municipality of weapons to take control of security in the town.
“The municipal government strongly reproaches the actions taken by the state authorities, in which a political persecution is evident,” he said.
A day earlier, the city council said the young doctor was admitted to the primary detention area, where she was certified by an expert, stating that she identified herself “with physical characteristics attributable to substance use.”
According to the version of the government of Progreso de Obregón, Beatriz’s father visited her “some time”, before finding her lifeless.
The Hidalgo Prosecutor’s Office maintains that this is the only municipality of the 84, which is not added to the coordinated police command.
