At least 15 people were killed on Saturday in separate violent attacks in Reynosa, Tamaulipas and in Tabasco, five more people were killed.
In Reynosa, 14 murders were perpetrated in the colonies of Almaguer, Lampacitos, Unidad Obrera and Bienestar, reported the State Coordination Group for The Construction of Peace in Tamaulipas.
Another death was later added during a clash between police and an armed group on the Pharr border bridge.
“Inquiries were initiated to establish the causes of the homicides and locate those responsible, particularly in the surveillance and patrolling actions that are carried out in various parts of Reynosa,” said a statement issued by the state police.
He also noted that “as a result of the intervention of the State Police, a person was arrested and two women were taken into a trunk of a car and three vans as well as a long gun were secured.”
According to BBC “the shootings provoked the mobilization of the army, the National Guard, the state police and the State Prosecutor’s Office, which were deployed throughout the city.
“At the moment, the identity of the victims and the attackers, as well as their motivation, is unknown.”

Tabasco also records violent deaths
This same Saturday in Macuspana, Tabasco, five people were killed, according to reform, “the attack was recorded around 1:40 p.m. on the highway near Colonia La Escalera, in the community of Villa Benito Juarez.”
Official reports indicated that an armed group fired on the five people who were traveling in a van.
“Three men died instantly, another died after dying for a few minutes, while the fifth victim lost his life while being taken to hospital. At least 20 shell casings were located at the scene of the shooting,” he said. reform.
