Morelia, Michoacán. – The legal area of the Team for Michoacan composed of the PRI, PAN and PRD parties announced that they no longer wish to contest but to annul the election for governor because of the alleged irregularities registered in the electoral districts of Tierra Caliente.
In a press conference, Victor Manríquez Gonzalez said that last Friday a mother appeal was filed with the electoral authorities to annul the result of the election of 6 June, because they consider that “the atypical results of the Tierra Caliente region demonstrate a possible intervention of organized crime in the vote.”
He added that the allegations are supported by evidence that, in order not to hinder the investigation, is kept confidential.
