Gabriel Zamora, Michoacan .- Two trailers carrying containers starred in a vehicular carambola along with a taxi on a curve of the free road Gabriel Zamora-Uruapan, after which the units burned in flames, according to information provided by police sources to this newsroom.
The event was this day at kilometer 123 + 800 of the aforementioned road, at the height of the Puente del Marqués in this municipality of Gabriel Zamora. Local paramedics attended the scene and checked on the drivers of the units, who suffered some blows, but fortunately are not in serious health, rescuers confirmed.
The incident was attended by the personnel of the National Guard’s Highway and Facilities Security Battalion, which guarded the perimeter to prevent another mishap, while firefighters worked to put out the fire and made sure it did not get older. The road was closed for a few hours as aid work was being done.
The respective expert reports were carried out by the National Guardsmen, who ordered cranes to tow the damaged vehicles to an official corralón. In the end, traffic was restored in the area. Public Security elements from the municipality and the neighboring districts also participated in the support.
